The Most Misrepresented Person In the Universe!

Bob

I believe in God the Father, Creator of Heaven and Earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son.

I'm an enigma to some of my professional acquaintances. I believe in God, which to them indicates that I must be stupid. Yet at the same time I'm a Ph.D. in physics from an ivy league school, so I must be smart. My puzzled friends ask,

Q : "How can you believe in that stuff?"

A : "I don't believe in it!"
"Not if you're referring to American Cultural Christianity. That's nothing more than syncretism - some strange mixture of Jesus, Hollywood, family tradition, and the American Dream. Christian leaders claim, 'Thus sayeth the Lord!' when He has said no such thing. Theologians from different denominations derive countless conflicting opinions from the same Book. I agree with you. No intelligent person could possibly believe in that stuff!"

"But that stuff is not a reflection on God. It's a reflection on human nature. You need to stop looking down on people and start looking up to God. He has answers for anyone who has honest questions."

My middle daughter left the faith for a while. Although we remained on good terms with each other, she made it abundantly clear that we were NOT going to talk about matters of faith. All I could do was pray. But fortunately my daughter asked honest questions. Months later she came to me and explained, "I finally realized that my problem wasn't with God. It was with what people said about Him."

AMEN Luanna! God is the most misrepresented person in the universe! And the Devil works extremely hard to keep it that way!
