The True Easter Story: The Keys of Death and Hades

Rev 1:18 (NIV) "I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! "And I hold the keys of Death and Hades."

The Bible is not clear on what Jesus did during the three days He was dead. But Jesus makes one thing clear in Revelation 1:18. He took back the keys of Death and Hades from the Devil! DEATH destroys the BODY and HADES (SHEOL in Hebrew) entombs the soul. Jesus dealt with both. Jesus was the First to rise from the grave - the First-Fruit of them that slept. And because He rose, so will we!
