Helping Others

After you have been through the fire and (by the Grace of God!) come out on the other side, God will sometimes send you back to help others who are going through the same fire - because you can relate to their situation. That's why God used me to help more than a dozen people over the years. The initials in the picture represent about half of the people whom I helped. I didn't go looking for them. They were sent to me by various "coincidences" that weren't really coincidences at all. With one exception, they were all men. Interestingly, when I asked Him about the one exception, the Lord said,

"It's OK. Just watch the boundaries."

Each of these persons was a Christian with a mentally ill spouse who was relentlessly tearing up the marriage and family. Each tried hard to hold their family together, but ultimately there was nothing they could do. In no case was there a happy ending. But each of them grew closer to God. All I could do was to be a friend and and (hopefully) a good listener. I was grateful that God repurposed the bad things that happened to me to help others. Maybe He will do the same thing for you!
