The widget above shows the current count for US abortions since Roe vs. Wade. If you watch for 30 seconds you will see it increment by one little life. If you come back 24 hours later, the count will be larger by nearly 3000 little lives. Who cries for the little ones? And who cries for the mothers who will one day regret their decision?
I have always loved children. I have always been upset by abortion. I have always worked for and contributed to the Pro-Life movement. It's how I vote and how I lobby. And abortion is one of the main reasons why America is now experiencing God's Judgment. Every year a few good friends and I set up a Pro-Life booth at the county fair that is seen by thousands of people. It is always the prettiest booth in the fair! We have heard enough stories and testimonies from our visitors to fill a book! I don't expect others to feel as passionately about this as I do. But once I asked the Lord, "How can so many Christians just look the other way?"
It is one thing to attend to your daily affairs, but another to be consumed by them."
"The Silent Scream" is a classic 1984 anti-abortion film created by Bernard Nathanson, a former abortion provider who had become an pro-life activist. This graphic film shows an ultrasound movie of an abortion. The baby is described as squirming and crying out in pain. Ultrasound was fairly new at this time. So, "The Silent Scream" was a huge wake-up call to an ignorant and unconcerned American public, who for the most part considered an unborn fetus to be nothing more than a mass of tissue. This film was prompted by a speech that president Ronald Reagan gave to the Association of National Religious Broadcasters in January 1984. Reagan stated that a fetus suffers "long and agonizing pain" during an abortion. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) promptly countered by saying, "The science* conclusively establishes that a human fetus does not have the capacity to experience pain until after at least 24–25 weeks.**" The official ACOG statement (the absence of pain) was widely used to justify abortion. But sorry, I must be in the slow group. How does the absence of pain make it acceptable to take a life? I just don't get it. Because if it did make it acceptable, then by the same reasoning it would be OK for someone to take your life - just as long as they sedated you up beforehand to block the pain. How can people believe such nonsense?
* Years later when COVID hit, the American public was repeatedly told to "follow the science." But we eventually learned that this was merely government manipulation masquerading as science. ** In years prior, the age at which the medical community was sure a baby could feel pain was 18 weeks. New studies suggest that some preborns could experience pain and other stimuli as early as 12 weeks.
It's not that complicated. It's clear that the abortion industry and the pro-life community can't both be telling the truth. But instead of "following the science," maybe you be following the money. Abortion is a HUGE business! And those who benefit financially from abortion have a monetary incentive to falsify information. The pro-life community, on the other hand, has no monetary incentive at all; they are self-supporting charities. What more do you need to know?
Warning - In 2022 the US Supreme Court finally struck down the Roe v. Wade decision of 1973, ruling there is no constitutional right to abortion. But instead of settling the matter, this merely shifted the responsibility from the federal government to the states. If the states support abortion so that we revert back to "business as usual", I believe that God will judge America so severely that we will never recover.
