Success is not necessarily an indicator that you are doing well. It is better to fall short trying to do what God wants than to succeed at something that is merely chasing your own butterflies. For example, Holy Spirit once told me,
"The commonest way for people to succeed in public is to invest time and energy into these (public) things that rightfully belong to their marriage and family."
In plain language, Holy Spirit says that most people who are public successes are private failures. And who you really are is who you are at home. My priority has always been to succeed at home. Another scam to avoid . . . . Satan will sometimes give you success to build pride and self-reliance instead of humility and God-reliance (Prov 3:5-6). That is the ultimate set-up for a major fall!
