Welcome to Taiwan!

Bob

Taiwan was a good choice for a first mission trip. I quickly fell in love with the country and the people. Most Taiwanese people have clear goals in life: Work hard. Get rich. Within the span of one generation, Taiwan has become a wealthy nation with little poverty. Many Taiwanese can afford luxury cars and overseas vacations. Other common sights: Mobile telephones and PDAs, McDonalds and Starbucks and 7-11, young men and women wearing the latest fashion trends. But most Taiwanese have never heard the Gospel. There are simply not enough followers of Christ to share their faith. Despite over 100 years of missionary involvement, Protestant Christians make up only about 2-3% o f the population. Among the working class, only 1/2% are Christians.
