(25 Dec 2010) What a thrill to wake up to the miracle of a beautiful Christmas morning snowfall!
My Gift to you!
"You know how much I love snow! Thank you!!!!!!!"
An hour later I was on the mountain, walking beneath hemlock boughs heavy with snow. In places the branches bent so low that they made a tunnel. I pulled out my pocket magnifier to admire the intricacy of the snowflakes as they fell upon my gloved hand. Chickadees and finches flitted from branch to branch, sending down miniature snow showers with every flutter of their wings. As the sun reflected off the snow, individual snowflakes lit up like Christmas - red, orange, yellow, green, blue - and sometimes even bluer than blue. The contrast of the green leaves and bright red berries of the holly against the snow was spectacular. Glistening icicles hung from the edge of a small waterfall. The stream cut a graceful dark line through the otherwise white floor of the forest. Mine were the only footprints...
I have enjoyed many snowfalls in my life, but never as much as this one! Am I in middle Tennessee? Or Narnia? Or the outskirts of Heaven? I want to stay here forever! I never want this special time to end! Then I spontaneously asked a strange question:
"Will there be snow in Heaven?"
Would you like there to be snow?
"I'd be disappointed if there weren't!"
Heaven will not disappoint!
