When my precious daughter Alyssa was two and a half years old, she fell out of a shopping cart. It was a hard head-first fall onto the hard tile floor of a grocery store. But fortunately her head was harder than the floor! I was extremely thankful that she was more scared than hurt. When I was certain that there were no broken bones, I scooped her up in my arms, hugged her, and exclaimed,
“God must have been watching over you!”
“But He wasn‟t watching me when I fell!” protested Alyssa.
This is humorous coming from the mouth of a precocious toddler! But we grown-ups also accuse God of not watching over us. There are certainly times when it feels like God is a million miles away! But feelings are not facts. God keeps all His promises!
Gen 28:15 (NIV) - I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go. I have promised you.”
