27 June 2021 - Mine is the child-friendly Sunday School room that is Christmas all year round. Instead of table and chairs we have plush pillows and fuzzy comforters on a shaggy carpet. We have interesting toys and we play peaceful Christian background music. This Sunday our church had an early 4th of July picnic after service, so I set up crafts for the children.
I was initially disappointed when only five children showed up. But then I thought about who they were. Two of these children are from a recently broken home and are struggling to adjust to a new normal. Another is unchurched and growing up in a home without God. And all of this at a crucial age when children form their world-view of what life is all about! The crafts I had selected turned out to be ideal for them. All of the children were happy and content. And the unchurched child experienced the joyful side of our faith!
"My Kingdom is a joyful kingdom. And My followers must reflect that joy to all they meet!"
So many things came together at the last minute to make this special time for the children! After they left, I inwardly marveled, "That was perfect!" Then that still soft voice surprised me once again.
"I arranged it."
