Can I ask you a question? God

Bob

Psalm 1:8 - Listen, my son, to your Father's instructions.

Sometimes the best way to teach your child is to ask questions. Beginning in spring of 2006, the Lord began asking me questions. I was hiking along the Sewanee Perimeter Trail when He asked the first question. Another question came as I sat beside a secluded mountain waterfall. Others came while hiking in Savage Gulf. God waits till I've finished answering one question before asking me the next. Some of His questions took me months to answer. Thinking these things through - really thinking them through - was an amazing and delightful a spiritual journey!

  • What kind of person do you want to be?
  • What have you learned by watching others (go through their trials)?
  • What's keeping you from having a great marriage?
  • Who are you living for?
  • What is it you want?
  • What are you afraid of?
  • How is it going to be different?
  • How much is enough?
