Teens Speak Their Mind
I drove church van for several years and picked up children who lived in the slummy areas of the county. My route was long and time-consuming. But I learned a lot during those years that you will never learn in church. One of my teen girls once said,
"I believe in God. But I don't think He can do anything to help me.
This is one of the saddest things that I have ever heard! She was being totally honest. And I wasn't going to invalidate her with some trite answer. In fact, I didn't have an answer for her. Her Mom was struggling with cancer and her parents fought. Life in the slums is drear; there's not much hope . . . . .
It's been years since you said that, (name withheld). And I don't know how it all turned out. But I am praying for you right now!
